- App lab: importing activity — load synthetic sprint data and reconcile against a sample GL.
- Contractor & vendor overlays — detect double-counted tooling and rate-card distortions.
- Platform tax storytelling — allocate shared platform spend without punishing feature squads unfairly.
- Audit pack assembly — produce the artifact you can take into a leadership review.
- Defense clinic — peer and instructor critique of your pack, including known blind spots.

Mei Lin spent a decade bridging FP&A and engineering orgs across Hong Kong and Singapore. She designed Softengcloud Digital’s first financial auditing app curriculum after watching too many “green” utilization dashboards hide red contribution. She teaches with patience, dry humor, and zero tolerance for fake urgency in sales copy.

Do I need a finance background?
No. You need access to someone who can explain your chart of accounts at a high level, or willingness to interview them during week one.
Which tools do we use?
A browser-based financial auditing app Softengcloud configures for labs, plus downloadable worksheets. You may export insights into your own systems afterward.
What is a real limitation of this course?
Margin Ledger Mastery will not magically clean messy time-tracking culture. If your org refuses to log contractor hours with any consistency, the audit pack will stay directionally useful but not board-ready. We say this on day one so nobody confuses pedagogy with ERP transformation.
